Not-so-Little Stud...

So maybe you know, maybe you don't, but I'm kinda proud of my little brother.  He's kind of a stud.  Drew is one of those 6'7" ballers that actually made it to Division 1 college basketball.  He plays in front of 17,000 people on a regular basis and owns it.  On top of all that, he's the best guy, full of humbleness, fun, strong morals, and a love for people.

All this to say, I attend about two Memphis Tigers games a week, and coming up with outfits with enough blue to last a season tends to make my head spin!  My family (well, maybe just the girls) are constantly on a hunt for ways to incorporate Tiger blue into our wardrobe without looking like blue crazed blueberries.

Check that out...he's fashionable, too!  Guys, take cue.

Lookin good, guys!  This is a former Tiger, one of Drew's best friends.
And no, he's not flipping the bird...I think he discovered crazy
hand symbols when he was playing ball in France this year.  Don't you just LOVE Will's glasses?

My bi-weekly ritual!  Girls, I promise, basketball is a blast.

Boot Ordeal

For Christmas, my sister bought me some fabulous boots from Aldo.  Apparently she got the last pair in the country and everyone that came in the store was jealous of them.  Lucky me!
Unfortunately, as soon as I tried them on, we realized they were missized.  So a whole month later, I finally was able return them and go on a mad boot hunt.  This boot hunt resulted in every stinkin' pair that I fell in love being sold out all over the country, internet, malls, etc.  They seemed to have every size but mine.
How does that even happen?!
This is the pair I originally got for Christmas,
they still have sizes 5-8 for any takers! (Buy here)

So then I fell in love with these little beauties.
Aren't they great? They still have a few sizes left.(Buy here)

These are the ones I just got in the mail yesterday.
I love them! (Buy here)

Wishing, waiting....

I have a super long wish list right now.
That's what getting married, starting a new job, and having a bunch of new combined bills for the first time will do to you!
I feel like I need a wardrobe overhaul.

Take a look at what I'm crushing on right now:
Stores are seriously calling my name.  Can't you hear them?
Let me take this post to show you a few things on this list.
.  .  .

First off, how cute and classic is this chambray shirt?

And I'm drooling over these Frye Harlow Campus Booties.
(Buy here)
.  .  .

Speaking of booties:  I did purchase these cute little things
a few days ago...I'm just anxiously waiting for them to be shipped.
I ordered some in black and then some in grey
because I couldn't decide which ones I'd like better.
.  .  .

Going with the leopard purse, I've always had a thing for leopard but a few years ago, it seemed that ladies just kept finding the world's worst animal print and parading it around.  Lately, girls are bringing the class back to leopard, and I couldn't be more excited!

These ladies look amazing.  How refreshing is that?

(rather than this)

What are some things you would like to see making their way
to your closet for these next few winter months?

Check it out!

Time to introduce another little love of mine.
First, I love sales...isn't it the best feeling when you walk away with a super great top for half the price and it's still in season?
I love the quality of expensive clothes...and when you give me expensive things for about 75% off?  Fab-u-lous!  Right?!

Check out one of my favorite sites: HauteLook!
Level 99 Denim: normally $106, yours for $39.
(Check out that 35 inch inseam, tall girls!)

Barbara Lesser shirt: normally $172, yours for $59.

Mackage wool coat: normally $598, yours for $299.

Each day, they feature about 20 new sale events such as Nicole Miller, Young Fabulous & Broke, L.A.M.B...just to name a few.  This place seriously puts other online shopping to shame.
They feature the model's height, bust, waist, hips, and what size they're wearing.  How genius!  It's so much easier to shop when you see it on an actual person with actual measurements!

I'm quite obsessed with that beautiful red blouse...think I may go purchase that!

Taking the Plunge

I really do want to this to be a fashion blog one day, but lately my fashion has been lacking.  For me, as the winter months start dragging, my inspiration starts lagging.  It seems that all I want to do is stay warm!  A few nights ago, I thought I'd take the plunge and take some outfit photos.
And that, girls, is when this outfit happened.

Seriously, that's the best I could come up with?

Okay, the green scarf is a beautiful shade of green.
Plain black cardigan is boring.
Black boots ..I really do need new ones.
Jeans are great, but please come up with some more pizzazz.

Look how much more spice I could have added by a little leopard, a cute ankle boot, and a better top!

What would you have done differently?

I promise I'll try harder next time...

Polish & Chickens

Okay, when I absolutely love a product
and it really works for me, I can't help but to share it.
(I sincerely apologize for anyone who has heard my ravings multiple times.)

Introducing: Gel Manicures.  People!  Listen to me!  Go out and buy the whole kit.  Polish that lasts for about 10-14 days, without chipping and without acrylic.  AH-MAZING.  I'm one of those girls who adore painted nails.  After a manicure, I've been known to tell my husband, "Ahhh, so much better!  I just don't feel like a girl without pretty fingers!"  It really is too easy for as amazing as it is. My grandmother is even singing its praises.  I've had many ladies stop me and ask my secret.  Okay, enough with my ravings.  Let me show you how it's done!

Here's some of my stash.  The three things you will need are Structure Base Coat, LED Gel Polish (buy Here) (or another brand Here).  And LED Top Coat(not pictured).

I use this base surface cleaner, but you really just need rubbing alcohol.

Finally, you'll need this tiny portable LED Light (here).  And there you have it!

Here are my tips:
- Clean your nails with some alcohol on a cotton ball first.
- Spread each layer on very thin.  Trust me, it just works better.
- First comes base, then two coats of color, then top coat.
- Let it sit under the light for two minutes between each coat.
- Take rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball after the last
layer and swipe it over your nails.
Dry as can be!  Say hello to gorgeous nails!

On a much different note...my husband has a bit of a strange hobby.  He decided to raise some chickens last winter.  But really, they do make some tasty eggs!  There was this poor little hen being pecked by her friends until she was bleeding.  Hens, that's not very lady-like at all!
So my gentleman whisked her away from those mean lady hens.

Meaning: I have a chicken in my apartment.

Love.

So, I've been on a bit of a blog kick lately.  I love them!  In its own little way, you get to know a little about women all over the country....they are funny, talented....and boy, can they dress well.  I'm not too certain if I have anything to contribute to this wonderful world of blogging, but I figured I'd give it a go.

To start, I married my wonderful husband just four months ago....where have these four months gone?!  I fell headfirst into wedding planning during our nine month engagement.  I loved dreaming of the big picture of how things were going to look.  Our wedding felt magical to me, I never wanted that night to end.

Just look at our beautiful wedding party!

I told you it looked magical!

Isn't he handsome?

And if my wedding proved anything...it's that magic can indeed be created on a small budget.

We had a perfect honeymoon in Playa Mujeres, Mexico

(What would we do without awkward angle self-timer photos?)

For this blog, my dream is to be able to inspire other girls as they read about certain bits of my life.  I want to show you fashion, as I am discovering my own style.  I want to show you things that I love and I enjoy--it's just my life, and as hum-drum as it may be, maybe someone can find joy in it.
